ESL (I-20 Necessary): Advanced

The Advanced levels are divided into three courses: ESL 500, ESL 600, and ESL 700.  These three levels are geared towards competency in academic settings, including preparation for the TOEFL iBT.

The coursework is challenging.  Students practice their listening and speaking skills through in-class discussions, presentations and role-playing.  Listening skills are expanded through analysis, prediction, recalling details, and note-taking.  Speaking skills are developed through pronunciation practice, expansion of vocabulary, and analysis of effective communication strategies.

Along with the preparation for the TOEFL test, ESL 700 offers extensive practice and assessment at a university level in order to prepare students who wish to continue their education at colleges or universities.  ESL 700 covers all four components of the TOEFL iBT: reading, listening, speaking, and writing.  Each skill is assessed using a diagnostic pre-test, while progress is measured with mini-tests and a post-test.  In addition to extensive paper-based activities, the course includes an interactive CD-ROM so students can practice their skills outside of the classroom.

이 단계에서는 토론, 발표, 프레젠테이션, 역할 게임을 포함한 다양한 상황에서의 영어 사용을 배울 수 있으며, 영어에 대한 이해력과 유창성을 높일 수 있습니다.

ESL 700 에서는 TOEFL test 준비와 함계 university 레벨에서의 언어 사용을 집중 연습하게 된다.  또한 뉴스, 인터뷰, 회화, 분석, 경력에 관한

오디오, 비디오를 이용한 다양한 수업이 진행됩니다. NYEdu의 토플 준비반은 TOEFL iBT의 모든 영역(읽기,듣기,말하기,쓰기)을 포함합니다.

각 단계의 실력은 모의테스트를 통해 측정되고, paper-based 테스드는 CD를 이용해 학생들이 연습할 수 있도록 구성되어 있습니다.

이 과정을 통해서 학생들은 보다 아카데믹한 영어와 TOEFL 테스트를 준비할 수 있는 전략을 배우게 됩니다.
